The Morningside Engine is a game engine built on top of the Java runtime. It has been under development since 2014, and is the engine used to power games created by One Drop Games.
Offering a powerful editing environment that allows for full flexibility in a game's design and level creation, the engine is best suited for top-down, 2D games, although a limited isometric projection is also offered.
Among its features are tight integration with Box2D, a popular rigid-body physics engine, and fully built-in content creation tools for dialogues, animations, props, materials, scripts and multi-layered maps. There is also a console available which features tools to simplify development and debugging, in-game.
The current stable version is 0.7.4.
